It's over. The first set of trimestral exams we ever had in High School. And I got through it alive. It's a M I R A C L E.

We've recieved the results of every exam except for GRAMMAR. And well, Sir Cereso hasn't let us see our papers, but he gave us our scores already.

CLE was okay, I guess. It was easy! I just found it a bit long. Well, the score I got wasn't bad. I'm happy with it. Haha. Although I should've gotten perfect on my Bible/StagesOfRevelation thing... But he doesn't wanna give in. :-L :-< Oh well.

Filipino was half-half. Like I really LOVED the crossword part, but I HATED the Pagpapahalaga part. The score I got SUCKS. But according to Sir, I'm one of the top ranked. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? :|

Social Studies was long. Easier than I expected [I was prepared for ESSAY!] but then the score I got was lower than expected. *sigh* Oh well.

Literature was okay. I like my score! HAHAHA. The poem was SO hard though. I thought it was a narrative poem. :| =))

Grammar was super easy. Ms. Tata hasn't given us our results back yet. I saw the lines for the Essay, and I thought it was really long, but it wasn't. THANK GOD.

Science was okay. It was really long though. Sixty multiple choice questions? I hated that. Haha!

Math was love. Haha. I LOVE my score here. Okay, it's not super high, but it's higher than I expected! Yaaay. The test was easy, it was just the BONUS that I hated! =))

So there. I finally uploaded a blog entry. Yay me! Haha. :P

-martii

Rainy days and sober ways.

I know, I know... I haven't posted a blog entry in over a month. Kill me now. Lol.

I've been really busy... High School teachers like giving lots of homework and projects. So yeah, those things have been the cause of my lack of posts on Xanga and Multiply.

Anyways, the weather officially SUCKS. I'm not kidding. Rain is a killjoy. Classes have been suspended for the last two days, and by the looks of it, we're gonna have classes on a Saturday. Ugh. I'd actually appreciate it if the government didn't call off classes today. There was no rain anyways. We really really NEED practice time for our Filipino presentation, which is exactly seven days from now. Ohno.

But then again, I've been very productive over the past two days. Yesterday, I finally finished learning Lil Bigz's Promise Ring Dance with Tony Czar. I posted my own video of me dancing it. Haha! Lol.

And today, I finally finished typing out our class directory. But it's incomplete... Since some people didn't fill their part out. Haha. Ohwell. I'll print it out now and let people fill it out tomorrow. :)

And now I've got a cold. The weather's really chilly now. I've been sneezing alot and stuff. I hope I'll recover by tomorrow. :(

i can be your little miss sunshine,
martina gabrielle dario :]

Theme song of the week:
Umbrella by Rihanna. The most overplayed song ever. Hahahaha!</font

High school.

How am I supposed to start this blog entry about one of the supposedly
most relevant moments of life? =)) Maybe like that.
:)):)) Anyways, school's been okay so far. The new students are okay.
:)) I just talk to Monica D., Anya Fran, Monica M., and now Bambina.
:))

I got into Math Enrichment again.
How? I have no idea. :| =))=)) I guess cause my
grades last year were high (?). =))=))

Super tamad
to blog about high school. `Cause it's just the same. Except now people
point at us going, "Look. Freshmen." :O
=))=))

Uhm, so the clubs I'm trying out for are
Dance Troupe and Chorale. But I'm changing from Chorale to Assumpta
Teatrica. =))=)) So there.

Poke
me when I forget to blog,
martii

Miracle, no? Usually, you'd see new posts everyday, but not lately. It's not that I'm busy. I mean, busy with what anyways? No Rep, no school, no tennis [well except for yesterday, more on that later]. So yeah. The answer is pretty simple. I'm a lazy bum.

You know, I'm so lazy I might not even finish this blog entry. :| :))

June One was Kaila's debut @ Makati Shang. View my pictures nalang. :))

June Two was P11's cast party. I got thrown into the pool within thirty seconds of being in the Turingan residence. Thanks to ten of Kiara's classmates who helped Teacher J in his quest to push me in. He's been wanting to ever since our cast party. :)) Anyways, I changed into one of Dre's swimsuits and we all swam until... five. =)) Or six? =)) And then we hung out for a while at Dre's house for a while. I'm best friends with everybody in p11, especially Dax and Carlo who text me everyday. =))=))

June Six was the Pockemon Crew feat. Philippine All-stars concert at CCP. My mom got tickets from the French Embassy. It was the best dance concert EVER. The Philippine All-stars started off the show with the performance they did at the International HipHop finals. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuper energy, as usual. Then the Pockemon crew came out [a hiphop group from France] and they're UNBELIEVABLE. They totally blew the whole crowd away. I suggest you look for their YouTube vids.

June Eight was the day Dani, Alex, and I went to PGH to read books to sick children. We only stayed there for a few hours then we went back to Dani's house to watch Evita. Then when that was over. Alex and I prank called people. =))=))=)) We should do it more often, I'm telling you. After that, I went to CCP to watch another French Spring presentation. This time is was this really mesmerizing one-man acrobatic show.

June Ten was the day I played tennis. For the first time since February. I trained for an hour in Polo. :)):)) Now I've got a blister thanks to my stupid grip. :| Oh well.

So there. I posted. Happy? =))=))

Currently watching:
Heroes [Season One]

"suuuuupeeer hiiiiiroooooo!",
martii :].

Seussical/Once Upon A Mattress

So last Monday, Kayla came over and we went to Onstage to watch P-9's [yes! My old class!] Seussical The Musical. We sat at the back with Edgar, Ales [*ehem*], Max, Maui, and Lia. Why Edgar sat at the back, I have no idea. Oh, maybe I have a slight idea. :> Anyways, Teacher Ariel did a really great job with P9! They acted really well... [The diction and singing, not so good, but that's long-term improvement.] The show was actually nice. The effects and costumes were SOOOO nice. Rich class kasi eh. :))

Anyways, moving on to P11's Once Upon A Mattress. It's my homie class. All my best friends are in it. =)) Haha. [Dax, Carlo, Rap, you guys are gonna be in our class next year. :> =)) You guys better make it good.] Anyways, I arrived at Onstage at 2 pm to help with the props and stuff. Dre, Erika, Chic, Sam, and Danielle were also helping when I got there. Kayla came after. They had their mic test [Josh aka Liveraide boy went, "Ma! Pa!" =))=))=))] and the tech rehearsal.

Their show was nicer than our Once On This Island. =))=)) It was so cute. Kiara sang so well. Of course, she got it from me. Just kidding. =)) Dax was good as usual. Also Carlo, and Sandy. Kim acted well. Sophie was good too. There. :)):)) <blink>Congrats P11!!!</blink>

What We Did For Love: Broadway Treasures

After a week of having no time to touch the computer, I've been craving
to blog about rehearsals and what happens everyday. But whatever.

Let me start this blog entry with:

Costume Hunting

Last Saturday and Sunday, we had
rehearsals from early in the morning to late in the afternoon, with a
one-hour break. On Saturday, Andie Ocampo asked me
to go to Landmark and SM with her to help her buy
costumes, since her parents were still recovering from jetlag. Anyways,
I went with her to go to Ayala Center to look for
costumes. We thought it would be easy... But noooooooo. It was so
tiring. We didn't even find a lot of things. And the
dresses and polos that fit the requirements were expensive. :| We
bought fries in McDo, right Andie? =))=)) At least
she was able to find some of her costumes.

Then I
went to Bel-Air to watch the Pasinaya thing I was supposed to join.
Lol.

Sunday to
Tuesday
We did one run a
day. Sunday and Tuesday, we had costume runs in the studio,
and on Monday we had a regular run in the hot room.
:)) It was pretty tiring. At least we're done with the whole show. We
just seriously needed to clean it
up.

Constructive
Criticism a la Tita Baby
The day
before the show, Tita Baby (yes,
the Baby Barredo) came to our class to give us some
tips and stuff. Before she came, we were all practically
shaking from nervousness. Even more when she
arrived. We were already preset-ed for Requiem. She
told us to sit down first so she could give us a few pre-run
pointers, which were very very very very useful. So we'd
perform one number, and she'd stop to correct us.
And that's how it went the whole day. Like she'd show us the
proper way to walk in Requiem, or our facial expression in Buenos
Aires.

She'd ask Chic, "What
song are you singing?" "Uhm... Tits and
Ass." "HOW OLD ARE YOU?!"
"Fourteen." =))=)) That was so funny. What else did
Tita Baby say that was funny? Oh yeah. Teacher Sisa said,
"That's Hans from Oliver!." Then Tita Baby went,
"Hans... You grew. Then you stopped growing."
=))=))=)) [I'm taller than him on character shoes
:>]

That morning, I was terrified `cause she
might get mad at me or something... But she said I was very
good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yaaaaaaaaaay! And, she actually loved Chic's song.
Well, our class definitely has something to brag about. We
passed the Baby Barredo's
standards!!!!!!!!!!!

The Show!!!
It took me a
long time to prepare that morning, so I arrived at Onstage at
8:10 am. I was so scared that I was gonna be late and Teacher
Sisa might kill me and all, but I was the third one
there. Mica and Andie were already there, then Ed arrived
right after me. We took pictures. Alot of pictures.
=)) Then everybody else started to arrive. We did blocking and
stage adjustment until 12nn.

During
lunch time, Kayla, me, Tita Leia, and Tita Cheska
ate in McDo. On the way back to Onstage, Tita Cheska
said, "My claim to fame is seeing all four Dario boys in
bahags." =))=))=))=)) Which I find really
disturbing, but whatever. :))

Then we started the Tech
rehearsal. It was a pretty bad tech rehearsal. And we could
tell. We just couldn't feel the energy much. I mean, we didn't feel the
excitement and vigor that usually accompanies
performing on stage. We couldn't feel it. So Teacher
Sisa got really mad. She'd say stuff like we were depending too much on
the mics. And of course that brought down our
spirits. We just prayed that we'd do really well during the
show.

Then the worst thing that happened
that day... Happened. Erika, yes, one of our two
star performers, started vomiting blood. She was
already saying things like, "I don't think I can dance today.", which,
of course, left us all in shock. What are we supposed to do
without ERIKA!? But thankfully she recovered not long after.
We had our make-up done, mic check, pre-set, everything had to
be perfect. Isa, Mikey, and Issa paid us a
visit backstage.

Then the show began. Before our
opening number [Requiem for Evita], we all held hands and
squeezed as hard as we could. We knew we were tired. We knew
we were all paos. We knew there were a darn lot of people out there. We
knew that the quick changes we do aren't so quick. But we just
went out there and performed. And... I guess we performed
well, `cause people were actually clapping hard
after every number. As in, really hard. People actually liked our show!
[Well, we can't really tell if we sucked `cause we're not watching it.]

After the performance, I dressed up quickly and saw
Inah, Fran, and Joret!!!!!!!!!! They went inside the
dressing room. Then I saw Cara, Gabbyy, Mela, and
Kara. And then Matteo, Pau, Aris, Camus, and
Gian. Thanks for coming guys, our class really appreciates
it. :) Then we had dinner in Italiannis with the
Turingans and the Lauds. =))

So, all in all...
<blink>I LOVE
T1-B!!!</blink> THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW
EVER!!!

love
<blink>definitely</blink> changes
everything,
martii :]

Running through.

Monday. When I woke up... I used the computer for a while... Then ate lunch. After that, I heard some shouting in the street... So I went outside to look. "GABBYDARIO!!!" "Mart!!! What on earth are you guys doing?" Mart, George, Sam, Corinne, Raf were walking on the street. They were on their way to go swimming in Corrine's house. =))=))=))

Anyways, since it was election day, we couldn't have practice at the Rep office, so we just had a little... get-together in Dre's house. It was a music practice, so no dancing. So yeah, we learned the Hercules [I Won't Say I'm In Love, Zero To Hero], Dreamgirls [Dreamgirls, And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going], and the Lloyd Webber Trio [Love Changes Everything, Unexpected Song, I Don't Know How To Love Him].

Tuesday and Wednesday were very emotional days for both Teacher Sisa and the class. We were strapped for cash. No programs, no lights, no mikes... Whatever... Let's not go there.

We've been doing run throughs for the past three days. So more or less... We know the whole show from top to bottom. But we've still gotta memorize a few lyrics. Whatever. :))

north and south!!! =)) =)),

martii :]

Ten MORE things you might not know about me.

Okay. I think the ten things I posted in my last list were a bit obvious... So here's another ten, which I've really thought about. Comments please? :)

un. My right eye is smaller than my left. Seriously. Just by a bit, though. But I notice it every time I look in the mirror. :))
deux. I have three stepcousins. They're my stepfirst cousins (first step-cousins?) who live in Virginia. Celena's 13, Cathleen's 10, and Christian's 7. They're my steps `cause their step-mom is my tita (my mom's sister).
trois. I have a birthmark on my belly button. It's pretty obvious, but I've learned to live with it.
quatre. I've never been to Divisoria. Why? I have no idea.
cinq. I'm scared of heights. And dropping from great heights. So no rollercoasters for me. I'm such a wimp. :))
six. I've never had a nosebleed in my life. Not that I'm asking for one, I just don't get nosebleeds.
sept. I can't scream. I mean, every girl knows how to scream, right? Not me. I mean, BOYS can scream and I can't. I'm just always paos, `cause right now, I'm in the stage where my voice is changing.
huit. My dream role on Broadway is Eponine in Les Miserables. She gets all the great songs, don't you agree? I don't want to be in Rent as much, `cause it's either I'm a lesbian or a stripper. So, yeah. Eponine for me.
neuf. The best place I've ever been to is Australia. They have the friendliest people there. And the feeling that you're so far away from the war in Iraq. =))
dix. Both sides of my family speak Spanish to each other, and I don't know what on earth they're talking about. I can understand A BIT. So this school year, I'm taking Spanish. :) I might as well study in Poveda. Haha!

So there. What's been happening to me lately? My feet still hurt. We finished America already. It's the hardest dance. With the unsteady beat of the music and the fast turns. Ohwell.

Later, I was supposed to go to the Cinderella auditions (Rep's Children's Theatre) but then I decided not to because it was only yesterday when Issa Tordesillas invited me to audition. Ohwell. The rehearsal and show schedule is crazy anyways.

Last Wednesday, I went to practice at the Bel-Air park for the *special thing*. There were basketball games going on: The Makati Inter-village Basketball tournament. In the game between Magallanes and Urdaneta, there was this one point in the game where Magallanes was 4, Urdaneta was 40. =))=))=)) Then Bel-Air (sina Galo Marquez, Joseton, Marco) vs. Dasmarinas... We lost. :( Ohwell.

There. WHAT A FEEEELING. Flashdance! =))=))

i'm dancing for my life,
martii :]

Death by character shoes.

My feet hurt. I've got a burn on my right ankle. I've developed a
bruise on my left knee. A scar on my right leg. Now, all I need is a
blister.

No, I didn't fall down the stairs or
anything... I danced, that's what. We're done with Little Shop Of
Horrors, Suddenly Seymour, Skid Row, One Day More, Footloose, Sing!
Sing! Sing!, Life Upon The Wicked Stage, Prologue of Cats, and Buenos
Aires. We've got a looooooong way to go.

What's sad
is that it's either we dance barefoot [on the sticky, dusty, hard
floor] or on character shoes [on the same floor]. Either way, we're
left to dump our feet into buckets of ice when we get home. Or remove
our splinters.

Yesterday was... Eventful? We
finished the Prologue of Cats and we did blocking for all the songs
from Little Shop Of Horrors. Then Hans Dimayuga [yes, it's Oliver!]
came and Teacher Sisa said, "Guys, this is Hans. He's gonna help us out
with One Day More." I was all, "Hans Dimayuga?" Hans went, "Yeah?"
"From Oliver!?" "Yeah, I was Oliver." "I was in
Oliver!" Teacher Sisa went, "That's Gabby Dario." "NO
WAY! I remember I made you cry once." =))=))=)) That was
soooooo funny.

Then today... We did the Jellicle
Cats choreo of Teacher Liz. Then Footloose choreo with Rod and Hans of
Teacher J.

We're faaaaaar from
done.

I hope I get
it,
martii :]

Ten things you don't know about me

Martina Gabrielle Dario reveals all! Just kidding. I've listed down ten
truths about myself that majority of my friends do not know. Why? I
don't know. Maybe `cause everybody's so into surveys and pass-this-on
blog entries. So I made one too. There.
=))

You're reading the blog of
an ex-Gingersnaps model. Haha! No joke. Me, Sam
Sadhwani, and some guy named Gio Panlilio were Gingersnaps' first
models... In 1998. My pre-AC days. Lol! Yup, I got free clothes. So
much fun! :D [in addition to being a model in Gingersnaps, I also
modeled for CosmoBride, and I also played the lead in a
Jollibee commercial in the same
year.]

I'm a fan of Capoeira and
I'm an aspiring Zipper. So yeah, I'm a Martial Arts
enthusiast! I used to take Jiu-Jitsu and
Aikido [both of which involve throwing people]. I
really Zip alot but I've never taken Capoeira. Looks like fun!
:P

I'm super super interested in
Photography. Although I don't have an SLR camera [I
will SOON my friends, just you wait =))], I can be such a critic with
photography. I really want to get into Parsons or at
least the International Academy of Film located in
Cebu. But to do that, I need a portfolio. And to get a portfolio by the
time I become a Senior, I need to become really trigger-happy like...
Right now.

I'm a Repertory Philippines
veteran. I was in two Repertory Philippines professional
plays: Annie in 1998 [what a year!] and
Oliver! in 1999. Yes, I'm into musical
theatre.

I play the guitar and
the piano. I took piano lessons for a year and a
half and I can note-sing now! Guitar, I'm still in the process of
teaching myself. :P

I wear
glasses. At home. =)) But my grade's really low. 0
in my left eye, 50 in my right. Or something.

I'm
an ex-honor student. That's funny. =))=)) No, but
seriously. I was. =))=))

I know
Singapore better than I know Manila. Well, it's just
easier to get around Singapore... And Singapore's
smaller than Manila anyways. :)) Shame on me. But, I
♥♥♥ Manila!!! :P

I listen to House
Music alot. As in super alot. Maybe because my dad's the
manager of nine of the most popular DJs in Manila. :> Ask me to
recommend you some of my favorite mixes.
:P

I have the coolest parents
ever. Okay, so they don't allow me to go to gimmiks unless my
grades are all in the line of 9. Okay, so they're out almost every
night. As I have mentioned earlier, my mom's a magazine
editor and my dad's an event manager. In
simple human's language, my parents are paid to party. Literally. How I
wish I turn out with the same job!
